i don’t know why my compaq 773TU’s inbuilt speakers are working when i insert my ext speakers or headphone. hey friends pl help me. is it a manufacturing fult or mine is faulty ?

well, you are right. I also tried earlier inserting external speakers but still the inbuilt ones were working. I suppose manufacturing fault. I didnt knew that few series of compaq like 773tu and 772tu suck. Did you try doing some tweak in control panel in audio settings? I suppose that also wont help you much either. Try visiting HP service station if its under warranty period.

Few models of compaq 773tuu and 772tu suck at drivers, you wont find any driver for audio for win xp. Does any one know where to find audio driver (mic problem) for compaq presario c773tu for OS windows XP. Dunno if HP will replace this

i bought c773tu i hav some solns frns
speakers work even when head phones r plug in— for this first mute speaker volume and then insert the head phones the problem will be solved

To install audio / modem drivers, first download and install Microsoft Universal Audio Architecture (UAA) Bus Driver for High Definition Audio (sp32646):

Extract the downloaded zip file to a folder on hard drive.

1. Click on Start and select Run. Now type devmgmt.msc and press enter.
2. Right click on “Audio device on High Definition Audio Bus” and click Update driver.
3. Select “Install from a list or specific location”
4. Click Next. Then select “Don’t search, I will choose the driver to install”
5. Click Next and then select “Sound, video and game controller” from the list.
6. Click Next and then click Have Disk.
7. Click Browse, Choose the location where you have saved the extracted folder.
8. Open the folder and choose the .inf file listed.
9. Ignore any errors you receive and proceed with the installation.
Conexant CX20548 Modem Driver for Microsoft Windows XP (sp36089.exe) (UAA Driver needed)

Download and install Conexant modem driver (sp36089). This will give error message and also will create a folder C:\swsetup\sp36089 which contains extracted driver files.
The same method which is used for installing audio driver needs to be followed for modem.

if this wont u can use device manager 2 solve this by
first install sp 32646 then open device manager then Right click on “Audio device on High Definition Audio Bus” and click Update driver. Select “Install from a list or specific location”

Click Next and then click Have Disk.

remember restart the sys once or twice then i think the problem will be solved

shruti i got drivers from compaq head office vizag.my neighboor is compaq dealer.i think u can get them frm hp site.

Agn admin i think this a easy way to get drivers installed(earlier i copied the above stufffrm some other site sry for doing so.but,below sol is my own experienced one….)

first try installing all the drivers for sound and remember sp no. most probably sp32646for sound,33839 for modem a fil swsetup will be created in c drive program files.
then u open device mangr improper device will have yellow colour icon
right click on sound devices >update driver >not this time>install frm a list (advanced)>do not search i will choose my self>have disk>browse>here browse the sp—– (sp 32646for sound may be some other drive no.) frm the swsetup of c drive>click open

remem ur accepts that drive no which suits that particular device thn restrt

I dont suppose anyone will find compaq 773tu drivers for windows XP from HP official site because it isnt available.(I had tried searching and it wasnt available). HP officially supports Vista. You will get vista drivers but not XP. Is there are update or so for this problem by company?

I also got my drivers from my dealer. Officially from HP site, you wont get it.

c774 ? i didnt knew series existed beyond c773tu (i have that). What does your dealer say? which operating system you have?

You need vista for inbuilt mic to work. In XP, it wont work. When you have vista, then download sound driver officially from HP site.

rahul, problem is when we have xp. HP officially supports Vista and you can get drivers officially from its site. Problem is finding drivers compatible for XP.

From the day 1, I face lot of issues with HP C772TU laptop.It is now headache for me.I face the below
mentioned problem:

As I press the power button in my laptop to turn it ON,the light glow on power button & power LED is also ON
in laptop body.But there is blank screen-no boot up window,no logo,no cursor blinking,nothing,only power LED glowing.
Then I have to keep press the power button to shut down the laptop & then restart again.In next time,it starts successfully.
HP engineer unable to solve this problem.Also my laptop’s motherboard is already changed 4 times in just 1 months
for different problems.It is still in warranty because I purchased this just 3 months back.Now its enough.
Also services of HP is also very poor.

Please help me to troubleshoot this problem & also my headache.

Here’s one personal e-mail ID of someone at HP if you are really are fed up of HP services - abitagkup (dot) gmail (dot) com . I havent had technical issues with laptop other than drivers problem.

Umesh Manocha - You dont need drivers to solve that issue. Its technical problem with the model. Or try formatting the laptop and see whether problem again persists. what do HP guys say? Its their duty to solve this problem. Go to consumer court if they deny.

Actually boss,the mother board of my laptop is changed 4 times.Every time I face some new problem as the motherboard changes.Now this problem does not occur in HP engineers presence.Actually it is random problem.HP engineer told me that :u can use this laptop,& they will do something if problem increases.
Guide me…..
