Tesla to produce high speed sports cars

Tesla motors has been much in news. Its a new green tech startup which will produce high speed sleek and sexy looking electric run cars. Al though production process has been slower than expected with only few of its roadsters on road.
Tesla made us a promise that it will make ready the powertrain engine which will make the car accelerate from 0-60 M/hr in 4-5 seconds. Company sources say that its ready with the technology and will put these powertrain in its production cars now. Its an amazing thing that with single transmission you will be able to reach 60 miles per hour in about 4 sec time. This new transmission system was under test. Also Tesla is getting newly designed gearbox from Borgwarner Inc, these new gearbox and powertrain will allow the Roadsters to drive upto 245 miles per hour on single battery charge ! These new systems are in full roductions and we await them till next year when we can see several Tesla cars on roads.
Regret is that production capacity is low currently. Company will reach production of about 20 new cars each week by year end and about 40 per week my march next year 2009. Currently it produces 10 motors per week.
Tesla motors backed by people like larry page and sergey brin is one of the most promising GREEN start up in this decade. Plus by no doubt, it is going to create a history in automobile engineering by delivering high performance cars run efficiently on electricity for first time ever.
