Compaq presario battery life problems

I have Compaq presario c 773 tu. I though i bought cheap and good laptop. But wait, not only does it have drivers problems with windows XP as official drivers from HP for XP aren’t available, but also that my series has only 2 hours battery life 
Now that sucks. I thought it would have at least 4-6-8 hours life but 2 hours suck. Other laptops do have 4-8 hours range battery life depending upon model and brand but Compaq cheats at this feature. Normal customers don’t look at this fact and only come to realize this after comparing it with other brands. So, at last, i haven’t got my laptop cheap.
