Toshiba satellite laptops are quite famous in Toshiba consumer notebook line. There are nearly 30 models in satellite laptops. Price of this series starts from $629 to more than $2500. You will find most satellite notebooks pre-installed with XP or generally Vista as OS. All have Tru brite technology (TFT wide screen). Pro models of satellite notebooks :

The cheapest laptop in Toshiba Satellite is A200 model ($629). The more high-end model you choose, more better options and configurations you will get.

AMD Athlon 64 bit processors rock. Actually i would suggest any kid or any guy who loves playing games occasionally off and on and who isnt serious about business on computer to go for AMD processors. I compared Intel processor computers having higher config than AMD computer in terms of gaming and AMD was twice much better than Intel. We generally dont have much professional work, just simple things like MS office, pdf, etc. and for that you should go for AMD. The inbuilt graphics card that it has just simply rocks.

A note that Gateway T 6836 laptop is much cheaper tan my Compaq presario c 773 tu laptop.
