Pictures of google’s workplace

Monday, September 8th, 2008 | Tech news | No Comments

Now i wont call this post as Office pics of google but rather WORKPLACE. Because office has some formality and code of conduct but at google, there isn’t. Rather you don’t need to have one because only people who are SINCERELY interested in their field of work actually make it to google.

No luck would take you to google. Only devotion to any topic and sheer hard work.

Google chrome will help maximise google products

Saturday, September 6th, 2008 | Tech news | No Comments

Google Chrome is the new open-source browser just released in beta by google. Plans are such that google wants to maximize the user experience on its services via google chrome. This what genuinely you can analyse and predict. You have tabular browsing in Chrome. A few crashes have been reported but NETsolutions test shows that this software is error free and 100 % functional with no flaws. Chrome is written on VB and JavaScript mainly. This also maximizes gmail speed. Functions like gmail shortcut are also present. SO google actually is hitting 2 birds at one shot. First, gain market share and control in browser industry like FireFox and give more to people using its services via its browsers interference. Open source will surely be the back end of most successful softwares of web in next 5 years. Google Chrome is available for official download in 100 countries.

$100 laptop dream

Wednesday, August 13th, 2008 | Tech news | No Comments

Laptops are getting cheaper and cheaper day by day, but not as cheap as $100. Although, non-profit US organization OLPC - ‘One laptop per child’ is working towards research of this so that they can give these cheap laptops to third world countries. OLPC has backing of giants like google, eBay, Microsoft, AMD, Red hat, etc. I don’t understand why you actually form organization on pre-stage. People are working hard to create things cheaper and i see no way OLPC making this process faster. Its useless to form OLPC. Let the first $100 laptops be developed and then form organization. Although efforts are there in this direction to make these $100 laptops and everything right from screen to RAM to hard drive would be compromised (its natural for $100).

I suppose it will take another half decade for $100 laptops to come into existence. At present, cheapest laptops are available at $500.

Gmail - From 2 GB to 7 GB

Tuesday, August 12th, 2008 | Tech news | 1 Comment

Gmail, one of the best e-mail system has gone a long way. From 2 GB to almost 7GB storage. Several hours back gmail experienced down time due to some technical problem and as a result gtalk was also not working. Although they made the official post on gmail blog. Gmail is one of the best mail system i have ever seen. Its simple but more functional and productive than other mailing systems like yahoo!, rediff or hotmail. One guy said that storage isn’t much problem nowadays in choosing which email service provider you choose but what matters is the fact that who bombards you less with ads, and frankly speaking yahoo is a master at that thing.

Being offtrack, If you are a bit intelligent and understand human psychology, the storage meter that runs in gmail which increases your storage in KB’s every second actually attracts people because you get a feeling that your mail storage capacity is increasing, but actually what does it matter if it increases because most of the people (99.5 %) don’t use them. Witty people there at google !

Google Walks out of Digg Deal

Monday, July 28th, 2008 | Tech news | No Comments

Lately news have come that Google has walked out of Digg acquisition deal. Dunno the exact reason. There have been several talks on Digg acquisition but none finally maturised up to final stage. Unfortunately, i thought google will 101% have it this time. Bad luck ! Is digg overestimating it self? Digg is supposed to go for another round of financing. Google acquired Russian advertising co. ‘Begun’ (Rambler).

Is Google Indexing less now days?

Friday, July 4th, 2008 | Seo tips | No Comments

I feel that Google is indexing fewer pages, actually i see this tech news site getting its indexed results in Google lesser day by day. Is that happening with you all if you have blog/site and do know a bit about this?

You can check your indexed pages of your site in Google by typing :

site:www……..com

Any expert tip on this point ? I suppose this phenomena is temporary and everybody is experiencing it. Although this blog is having regular posting, still indexed NUMBER of pages ( as shown in Google ) are stagnant and sometimes lesser than what i had actually seen in past despite the fact that all posts are getting indexed. Hope you getting my point.

Google to Index Flash Content

Tuesday, July 1st, 2008 | General | 1 Comment

Google has officially announced on its blog that now flash will be indexed by google bots. Google improved its flash indexing technology by integrating ‘Adobe flash player technology’ in its algorithm so that it can include flash content in its searches. So some great news for web designers who were useless for google. So google is always one step aghead of other search engines in terms of search performance. First images and videos and latest news, now flash content too. Does it intend to become a flash search engine also ? Google has greatly improved flash indexing ability. Its giving tough time to other search engines like Microsoft live and yahoo!. If you have flash on your site, you actually dont need to do anything for google bots to crawl your flash content. But some FAQ’s and limitation of flash indexing are given here.
