Apple iPod sound quality

Tuesday, November 11th, 2008 | Tech news | No Comments

I haven’t been much a fan of gadgets except iPhone. I haven’t heard much music on iPod either but yesterday when i herd it, i them came to know why iPod had such craze among geeks. The sound quality in their headphones is what actually fantastic with good storage features like of 8 GB, 16 GB, etc. The ability to transfer music files from your PC to iPod and vice-versa is great. The music quality seems as if you are sitting in some Dolby sound system Cinema hall. iPod rock ! Actually all products of Apple, the MacPro, iPhone and iPod. iPod has some great simple colours choice and they actually make its look quite cool and geeky. iPhone launched in India with great buzz but now i see no talks of it. Seems is fused out due to its high price and no 3G facility support from service providers.

No fuss about Dell

Monday, November 10th, 2008 | Laptop reviews | No Comments

Its long time Dell should launch some exciting unique product of its own when other giants like apple are busy working of innovations in form of iPhone or something else. Michael Dell said that Dell will soon launch some innovative item in market but it seems he is on ling holiday. Past several months, we have witnessed no surprise from Dell. Its the era of creativity. Apple is surviving because it earns amidst global recession due to its lucrative products. Google has done no layoffs because it earns significantly still from search. To survive in this global competition of notebooks, Dell as being a reputed brand should come up with new notebook or maybe a gadget or maybe some app based device with some extra-ordinary functions.

CJ requires targetted traffic

Sunday, November 9th, 2008 | Tech news | No Comments

For those who are new to CJ (Commission Junction), CJ is an affiliate program where site owners or publishers meet worlds topmost advertisers and earn commission by selling their products via there site or blog. I have been trying out CJ and regret to say it isn’t working as i thought. I built castles. Would put CJ and earn commissions from sales. But its hard to make even one sale. Most depends upon how much targeted your site is. Like if you write about specific products category, like writing about laptop models, etc. More targeted and more interested you users are on products, likely they will buy it from your site if it provides good deal.

Poor quality battery in notebooks

Friday, November 7th, 2008 | Laptop reviews | No Comments

One thing that is general complaint is poor quality batteries in notebooks. Except few models, most notebooks have batteries which start giving less no. of hours per recharge. In Dell Inspiron 1525, i have got complaint about battery life getting from 2.5 hours to 1.5 hours. Now what the hell you expect for 1.5 hours battery life. What mobility does it actually serve. why cant companies make battery as good as other general component of PC. A bad battery life kills the purpose of mobility in notebook. I have seen models in Toshiba giving some excellent battery life up to 7 hours and some models in Sony Vaio like TZ series which gives 10 hours battery life. Battery life satisfaction is never seen in less price range laptops.

Rupee gets stronger a bit

Thursday, November 6th, 2008 | Tech news | No Comments

Rupee has got stronger by about Rs. 2. Dollar value is Rs. 47.5 according to XE which showed Rs. 49.3 few days back, so just near US election time. Inflation is a major problem with layoffs in all sector and experts predict this is going to stay for 4 years still. When investors violate basic investing rules and invest in sensex, this is what happens.

Sony Vaio, the elegant and luxury notebook brand

Wednesday, November 5th, 2008 | Laptop reviews | No Comments

Whatever we say, whether Vaio costs heap or Blu-ray is dead, Vaio notebooks are one which make a lasting impression on a user. With Several features and fantastic accessories and savings schemes while buying, plus full high definition video with Blu-ray technology and 1080p resolution in most of its series, they just simply rock. The Xbrite technology is beautiful and the clarity and video quality that you enjoy on Vaio notebooks is simply luxury. Plus Sony’s international customer care facility is also good (you get international travel warranty with higher end models). Sony being a recognized international brand offers good customer support unlike HP Customer care which sucks. Sony Vaio CS Series is quite a good one with options in models ranging from basic to high end ones. Also Sony Vaio had limited editions of notebooks recently which had fine paintings as design in notebook instead of just glossy colours and i swear they were worth having a look to just lust for them. Yeah, they were limited editions and no cheap ones.

Dell Inspiron 1525 has perfect specs

Wednesday, November 5th, 2008 | Laptop reviews | No Comments

Dell Inspiron 1525 has perfect specs suited for a normal user with 2 GB RAM and other sufficient HDD and features at good price. In India, this model is one of the most favourite one and here you get 9 vibrant colors options. I suppose Dell was the first one to experiment with colors in notebooks which has led other brands like Sony to also experiment with it. For a normal user, 1525 model is best suited and anyone who has decided to go with Dell will certainly give priority to this model first. The 15.4″ piece is perfect for home use with great configuration.

Is Blu-ray dead ?

Tuesday, November 4th, 2008 | Laptop reviews | No Comments

I read some article online about Blu-ray saying that Blu-ray technology is as good as dead due to severe limitations, the main being high costs when most brands are struggling to reduce prices and where DVD technology is working fine.

Limitations :

(1) High costs and several other obstacles including high costs and inability of small producers to adopt them.

(20) Blu-ray movies and player are costly.

(3) High licensing fees of BDA - Blu-ray Disc Association.

(4) People are still content with DVD and other excellent codecs for movies.

Sony Vaio Notebooks are one famous for Blu-ray technology. This technology fascinated people a lot in beginning but above limitations limited its use among common public. Only those willing to shell out money and obsessed for HD movies go for it. I expect a fair market share of Blu-ray laptops in coming decade.

4 decades of laptop

Tuesday, November 4th, 2008 | Tech news | No Comments

The ideas for portability in PC’s all started in 1968. It has taken 4 decades for us to reach here where we are today where you can get slim and ultra portable and exciting featured laptops.  Developments in notebook has gone a long way, especially i suppose much development has taken in past 1 decade with developments in nanotechnology and other branches. Former Xerox PARC computer scientist Kay first had the vision in 1968 of developing what he termed ‘Dynabook’, something like portable PC’s. But what went was known as notebooks and laptops instead of ‘dynabook’. Well, that doesn’t matter because what we wanted was laptops, oops ‘dynabook’..whatever ! Every development starts with ideas and this was one of them.
