Why I moved to a Mac Book
Tuesday, August 26th, 2008 | Laptop reviews
I have a Black Mac Book I love it. This is my first Apple and so far I love this laptop I’m writing this post on it right now. I had a work laptop that my job provided it was a dell Latitude | D630 When I first got the dell I was so happy it seem really fast and it was for like 2 months then I got a virus so I had to reformat then I was fine for about a month and half then my hard drive died so I lost all my work again I was not happy. I was thinking about something my friend said (he has a Mac Book Pro) “Mac’s do not get virus” witch is not totally true but very close. I went to the Apple Store I had in mind I was going to buy the silver Mac Book Pro I walk in and saw the apple air and all most got that but it was slow for $1,800
Apple Air Specs:
- 13-inch: 1.6GHz
- Intel Core 2 Duo processor
- 2GB memory
- 80GB 4200-rpm PATA hard drive
- Built-in 802.11n Wi-Fi2 and Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR
- Weight 3.0 pounds
- $1,800
It does look nice but 1.6GHz for $1800 it was just to much for that. Then I saw the Black Mac Book I knew right then that was the one I wanted. I looked at the Mac Book Specs.
Black Mac Book Specs:
- 13-inch: Black 2.4GHz
- 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
- 2GB memory
- 250GB hard drive
- Double-layer SuperDrive
- Weight 5.0 pounds
- $1,500
I walked out of the store at $1,400 something i talk them down $100 I think they said I was a student or something not sure but I did get a 100 dollars off that coved the taxes. I went home and started trying to find programs I had to be ready for work the next day and it was my new laptop for work and home. It was a little hard to move at move over from XP Pro to OS x but I’m glad I did. I have had this laptop for 2 months and no problems. The battery life is awesome I think I get 4 hours off of it. If you are looking for a new laptop I would say go Apple.

Good luck with the transition. It is quite a pricey machine. It is an excellent laptop for use at both home and work.
