Dell Inspiron 1525
Friday, July 11th, 2008 | Laptop reviews
With this post i commence a new category of laptop reviews where i would be writing reviews of various laptops of various brands, all with their complete details and price and you may also post your questions in comments. Today i would write about Dell Inspiron model 1525. Inspiron series is quite famous in dell brand and believe me, i havent seen cheaper laptops even in india than Dell. I have heard its also preferred in US more than other brands.
Dell inspiron 1525 is not that costly either. But certainly US models are lot cheaper than indian ones. Dell laptops as ordered online are customizable therefore price and features vary even in the same models.
Features : Core 2duo processor with 2.0 Ghz/667 Mhz and Intel GM965 chipset, 2 GB dual channel DDR2 SDRAM. OS is vista home premium. 160 GB hard disk. 15.4 TFT wide screen. Comes with 54 Mbps wireless mini card and 8X max DVD writer plus Mcaffee Anti-virus for 30 days trial period.
Battery: 6 cell lithium ion battery ( i dont suppose its better than my Compaq presario laptop battery either)
Accessories : comes with 2.0 MP inbuilt webcam and integrated speaker and latest audio drivers and even Microsoft office home package.
You get 1 year next day on site service (that rocks!). The laptop is thin and light. The inspiron series start from ~500 US $ and end up somewhere at ~1100. In India, the price of this laptop is INR 37000 plus taxes and another INR 1000 if ordered online.
PRICE : INR ~ 38000 (~ US $ 880 ). Is it cheaper at your place ?

[...] got to know that Dell Inspiron 1525 has got nearly 3 hours battery life when run under Windows vista with continuous wireless network [...]
[...] Dell inspiron 1525 models are the best laptop models, both model and configuration wise. One of my friend wanted to buy a dell laptop and what we finally hit upon was Dell inspiron 1525 model priced at INR 36000 (US $850) which had the best of configuration and fitted his budget perfectly. But unfortunately dell had stopped producing that model. Dell has policy of producing certain no. of models only and you wont get that model after all of those have been sold out. That sucks because few of your favourite models won’t be available after few months. yeah, quite true. My model wont be available after 3 months here. I have Compaq presario 773tu model and my dealer says it would be tough to get 773tu after few months. [...]
[...] Considering the configuration of this model, there are several other models worth considering. HP pavilion dv2945 isn’t much preferred. For e.g they should have instead had Intel Core 2Duo rather than AMD because AMD is slower than Intel. Instead i would recommend students to go for Dell inspiron 1525. [...]
[...] Students actually love this model, best for price invested. Other hot competitor for this model is Dell Inspiron 1525. Actually Dell Inspiron 1525 ordered online gives flexibility of having your own configuration, but [...]

[...] Dell Inspiron 1525, one of the best models in Inspiron series of dell has sucking battery life. I have read reviews about this on various places on web and even from my friends that it has very low poor quality battery life. The battery life is just about 1.5 hours even of normal technical settings. Also battery quality is quite poor. Inspiron has one of the best fit configuration at best price and this was hot piece in market few weeks back when it was available in market. I don’t know why Dell stopped it. Maybe they could have continued it production as it fared well in the market. But battery life is very bad. Dell being a brand in notebooks market should give at least 4 hours battery life models. 1.5 hours battery makes no sense. [...]
[...] better model from some other brand. I will soon write about one good model of Lenovo. I can refer Dell and Sony Vaio because these 2 brands are sufficient for your requirement type notebook with both [...]
[...] seem best model for most of the people for their needs, let it be business or home use. One such is Dell Inspiron 1525 which had resulted in exaggerated demands in india and another classic notebook is HP Pavilion [...]
[...] Dell Inspiron 1525 has perfect specs suited for a normal user with 2 GB RAM and other sufficient HDD and features at good price. In India, this model is one of the most favourite one and here you get 9 vibrant colors options. I suppose Dell was the first one to experiment with colors in notebooks which has led other brands like Sony to also experiment with it. For a normal user, 1525 model is best suited and anyone who has decided to go with Dell will certainly give priority to this model first. The 15.4″ piece is perfect for home use with great configuration. Stumble it! [...]
