In mid 2006 google had acquired Jotspot. But it wouldnt let go its hard earned dollars in waste nor its brains. It has developed Jotspot, completely new and now coming in form of Google sites. It is going to be merged with google applications. Nice work google, but there is lot of competetion with microsoft and even Zoho. But i am sure, this smart googlers will find a way through this. I suppose its their hobby to do so !
More tech news here.
It seems these gentians are after DNA to store data, rather harness the capability of DNA that how much can it store on it. Science daily has a very good research article on it. I have earlier said how DNA can store terabytes of data . DNA is actually 2 anti parallel running helix structure having bases like pyrimidines and purines. The article says only 3% of DNA space is used to store body information (what you are) and rest 97 % goes unused. The scientists intend to use that space for storing information such that it all goes unnoticeable for transmitting secretly any data.
Also the storage capacity is very high and this can be used for negative purpose. The data is tightly secured as the DNA is tightly wrapped. For detail information you may very well study that article linked above. Don’t want to bore you up into much complexity.
Though silicon (commonly known as sand!) is one of the most available element on earth but for making silicon chips, you need a special grade of silicon which is limited on earth. The computer industry is using a lot of silicon to make silicon chips for processors but time has come when we are surely going to fact its scarcity in near future. We need an alternative to silicon chips if we want to maintain still those high speed computers at home in near future.
But walter de heer,a physicist at Georgia tech university as said that graphene can be used as an alternative to silicon and graphene will provide more faster speeds than silicon chips. Graphene is the same material (lead-Pb) found in your office desk pencils. That can be used as replacement in future instead of silicon. Graphene will be arranged in orderly manner on a single chip for use in computer. A lot of research is still needed and modification in graphene. You can’t simply use that black lead instead of silicon. It will be modified and then come to use. Still not sure, but its future is promising at least.
The problem with silicon chips is that it can do a limited processing per second due to heating but graphene transistors can do much more because they have no resistance. Also heat generated in graphene is comparatively much much less than silicon and graphene can ebb out the heat much faster than silicon, while in silicon if overheating happens, it takes time to cool down. Graphene is sure promising in areas where ultrafast transistors are needed. Carbon nanotubes are also sheets of graphene in cylindrical structure.

The 2 posts that i am going to link here are based on the same fact that carbon nanotube will be used to create metals stronger than iron but as flexible as rubber.
One post here. Its a research post on nanotechnology. The base of the post is that a nanocomposite of aluminum oxide and polymer is metal tough but its lighter than metals much more. Means that their nanocomposite compound is like an iron (e.g) but as light in weight as something of a hard plastic or maybe soft glass. It’s all a type of hybrid. Joining 2 things creating new type of elements with different properties. Haven’t we experimented that in various plants and trees long time ago?
The same goes here in this post also. It says researchers having modified a polymer substance making it 4 times tougher and 20 time more stiffer and temperature withstanding upto twice than original capacity.
If you think that those general books available on internet for cheap prices can make you rich overnight with high traffic and 1000 backlinks, then you are being fooled. Its a fact that no one sells those valuable seo tips for just $50. Just think that why would a guy sell those seo tips which can make him No.1 for any keyword for just $50? Wouldn’t he himself imply that and be happy rather than do this social service. There are very few guys who do social services on net and really i havent seen any one doing that, selling his valuable research for cheap. So stop all that fuss.
Just go by basic seo. There is no magic anywhere on web that you rank overnight. It’s just links plus links and content.
My first post in Genetics category.Gigaom has an article(research article-hey,he didn’t research it) about using DNA to store terabytes of computer data. The core is that DNA has 2 antiparallelly running helix which are tightly bound with each other.Of course the purine and pyrimidines bases are also there only.It will use this DNA structure to tightly store terabytes of information.Currently we have information stored on transistors but with more development in this field,we would be soon using DNA to store securely terabytes of data.
If you are going to develop a blog in which you are providing some valuable information(like this one ?),then write the content as if its your personal blog.Don’t take that way.I am not talking about writing about your girlfriend or your family problems but with respect to solely yourself.Like use
” I dont like the way this company agrees ….”
Here you have used ‘I’ in the beginning. What many do is:
“xyz(your blog name) doesnt like the way this company agrees..”.
Don’t try to be a Cnet or Znet group for nothing.Be personal.People tend to like an individuals review and authority more than a whole company or group. It seems interesting in reading.Try to be in your visitors shoe and you will note this fact.
Science daily has got some really good stuff on nanotechnology (i love stuff that science daily has as it has more simpler break down of complex understandings). 2 posts at a shot here. Really tired of analyzing nanotechnology researches coming up daily.
One is about using nanoparticles to strengthen various chemical (includes electrical and other aspects) properties of fluids. Its not new that various substances are mixed with fluids to get desired property. But with nanoparticles,it even more better(i suppose best). You may read the whole article here.
Another article is on getting water purified using nanotechnology(i have said that in application of nanotechnology). I have already said that nanotechnology will offer cheap, efficient and clean water purifying systems which even 3rd world nations like that of africa can afford. Let me not tell you about current water purifying systems because they are complex and expensive processes employed to get purified water. I with personal experience know what it takes to get clean water, the various stages a waste water has to pass to get germ free, odor free (its methane there in odor!) pure drinkable water.
In nanotechnology, a silica particles will be coated with active ingredients (they can be easily prepared, known as SES) which will simply remove viruses, bacteria, microorganisms, etc. Sounds easy?right? yes,it is. Check out the full article here.
Was just reading an article at science daily and thought would share with you. It’s about using nanoparticles to convert solar energy to electricity. Sunlight to electric current. What we currently have is silicon metal is used to convert solar energy into electric energy by concentrating sun rays at a point. Though silicon is available on vast quantity on earth, but the special grade silicon required to make silicon chips is limited. Currently, converting solar energy into electricity is not that cheap. It require a lot of investment first to setup even small appliances for domestic use.
The article argues that we should make solar energy absorbing material (like silicon chip) of noble metals like gold, platinum, silver. But i would say, wouldn’t that be costly using noble metals in place of silica. They haven’t explained this point in article. The absorption of solar energy from sunlight is dependent on the fact that electrons of any elements oscillate at a definite frequency and so does sun light electron oscillate at a frequency. When it strikes from both sides(the electrons),energy is transmitted. Currently i suppose conversion rate of solar energy into electricity is quite low(some few percent % only). What researchers intend to do is match the frequency of electrons of elements with exactly that of sunlight electrons oscillation.
Also nanotechnology will be used to see the properties of metals of absorbing sunlight in different spectrum colours(remember VIBGYOR?). Or maybe simply they employ oscillations of elements to generate heat !More oscillations, more energy!..lol..but its seriously funny because we can’t say much until we test out.
As i said, using noble metals for absorbing energy would be costly,it is argued that only a thin coat of those noble metals will be required for absorbing energy. Though i would i like to go much deep withing this post but stopping here, not making the post more complex. Trying to keep this types of articles simple, but what shall i do,i lose control over length once i start explaining
